From JFK Airport
A taxi or rideshare will typically take around 20 minutes.
You can use the JFK Airtrain which will get you to Jamaica Center for $8.25 (the OMNY card will work but this fare won’t count towards the weekly cap). From there, catch the Q30 or Q31 bus on the corner of Sutphin Boulevard & Archer Avenue (adjacent to the Long Island Railroad building). Get off at Homelawn Street & Highland Avenue. Walk in the direction of the bus for a half block and turn right onto Henley Road for a block and a half. The dorm will be on your right.
From LaGuardia Airport
A taxi or rideshare will typically take less than 15 minutes.
You can get to HOPE for a single bus/subway fare by taking the free Q70 bus to the Jackson Heights-Roosevelt Avenue subway stop (around 10 minutes). From there, take the F train to 169th Street (less than 20 minutes). Walk north down Homelawn Street for three blocks and turn right onto Henley Road for a block and a half. The dorm will be on your right. NOTE: You can also transfer to the Q30 or Q31 bus instead of walking those three blocks and take it north one stop to Homelawn Street & Highland Avenue. Walk in the direction of the bus for a half block and turn right onto Henley Road for a block and a half. The dorm will be on your right.
Other Airports
A taxi or rideshare will typically take around an hour from Newark Liberty or Long Island MacArthur Airport.
Your trip from here will be longer with mass transit. From Newark Liberty Airport, take the Newark Airport Airtrain to Penn Station in Manhattan. From there, take the Long Island Railroad to Jamaica (around 20 minutes). If you’re coming from Long Island MacArthur Airport, simply get to the adjacent Ronkonkoma train station and take the Long Island Railroad to Jamaica. Head downstairs to street level and catch the Q30 or Q31 bus on the corner of Sutphin Boulevard & Archer Avenue (adjacent to the Long Island Railroad building). Get off at Homelawn Street & Highland Avenue (under 15 minutes). Walk in the direction of the bus for a half block and turn right onto Henley Road for a block and a half. The dorm will be on your right.
Via Subway
From 169th Street (F Train) (not wheelchair accessible), walk down Homelawn Street three blocks to Henley Road, make a right, walk a block and a half. NOTE: You can also transfer to the Q30 or Q31 bus instead of walking those three blocks and take it north one stop to Homelawn Street & Highland Avenue. Walk in the direction of the bus for a half block and turn right onto Henley Road for a block and a half. The dorm will be on your right.
From Manhattan, Brooklyn, or Long Island by Train
Take the Long Island Railroad to Jamaica (around 20 minutes from Grand Central Madison or Penn Station in Manhattan, or Atlantic Terminal in Brooklyn). Head downstairs to street level and catch the Q30 or Q31 bus on the corner of Sutphin Boulevard & Archer Avenue (adjacent to the Long Island Railroad building). Get off at Homelawn Street & Highland Avenue (under 15 minutes). Walk in the direction of the bus for a half block and turn right onto Henley Road for a block and a half. The dorm will be on your right.
Driving
From the Long Island Expressway, take Exit 25 (Utopia Parkway). Make a right on Utopia Parkway (a left if coming from points east), pass St. John’s University on the right, and continue until Utopia Parkway becomes Homelawn Street as you pass under the Grand Central Parkway. Make the next left onto Charlecote Ridge, which will become Henley Road in a couple of blocks. The dorm will be on your left. There is free street parking.
Getting from HOPE to Henley
Walk to Union Turnpike and Utopia Parkway. Take the Q30 or Q31 bus on the northwest corner to Homelawn Street & Highland Avenue (10 minutes). Walk back half a block, cross the street, and turn right onto Henley Road for a block and a half. The dorm will be on your right.
Getting to HOPE from Henley
Walk west to Homelawn Street and make a left to Highland Avenue. Take the Q30 or Q31 bus to Union Turnpike & Utopia Parkway (10 minutes). Cross Utopia Parkway and walk to Gate 4 on Union Turnpike.
